Fire Safety Guidelines amidst Coronavirus Covid –19

As the situation continues to develop, we appreciate many of you are worried about your fire safety and compliance responsibilities. You may be a business which has or is about to close or may wish to reduce social contact and visitors to your premises.

Firstly, we want to make it clear that any postponements will not incur any costs or charges, if you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know as early as possible.

If you are unable to allow our staff on your premises to perform annual fire safety inspections and services, we have prepared a checklist which will allow you to temporarily keep a level of responsibility.

It’s important to clarify that your legal responsibilities and the legislation has not changed, under the 2005 Fire Reform Order it is still the business owner’s responsibility to ensure any premises are safe, if you have an emergency or situation which presents a clear immediate hazard you must allow our staff to attend, however we hope this provides a common sense and sensible approach during this unprecedented time.
