It’s been a week full of Fire Door repairs this week, lots of Fire Risk Assessors flagging up issues with Passive Fire Protection in general and specifically Fire Doors.
We’ve seen gaps and holes in doors left by the removal of mortice locks and lots of doors installed with both the incorrect type and wrong number of hinges. Also a classic issue which is picked up on now is intumescent smoke seals and strips being painted over by decorators.
Luckily, we can repair most of the damaged doors, using intumescent products to fill and close the gaps, we can clean out the painted channels left by the smokes seals and where necessary we can use our specialist tools to cut new channels into the door to house the smoke seal.

Our business mission statement is Repair, Refurbish before we replace but in some circumstances we have need to install completely new doors which was no issue and as the sun was shining was quite pleasant working outside so we don’t make tns of mess in the property.
